My wife and I spent 5 wonderful days in Rome, not our first time there. We decided to us a guide when seeing the Colosseum this time as there is so much to see in that area of the City. My wife found Marisa and this lady set up a tour for us that was spectacular! As I am unfortunately unable to walk great distances, Marisa took this into account and provided a wonderful tour for us, busy from one minute to the next, and her knowledge because of her background just added to our pleasure. This young lady answered every question we had in a way we could understand it and spent a very pleasurable 3 to 4 hours with us ! We learned a great deal about the Colosseum and the Palentine that we would have never gleaned from books alone. If you are going to Rome or the Vatican do give yourself a treat and enjoy the trip a lot better by hiring Marisa FIcorella as your guide! P.S. Believe me I am not a relative of this young lady, she just deserves a great big star for her efforts………Thank you Marisa Fred and Connie Bird

Marisa was an amazing guide! She is extremely knowledgeable and had a great way of explaining history, art, architecture of the sites that made it very interesting and memorable. She explained both small fascinating details and the larger overall picture. This provided me with a greater understanding of changes through history, reason behind things, what archaeologists have recently discovered, etc. Everything I learned from Marisa stayed with me throughout my trip; and I had much more knowledge and appreciation, and noticed more elements than I normally would have. Very highly recommend Marisa for any tour!

Marisa fascinated my family group of six with the story of Ostia Antica - the ancient port of Rome. Ostia was UNCROWDED - A pleasant surprise after the millions of tourists in Rome. We could take our time exploring an actual dig. The children could wander safely. Marisa met us at the trains station and we traveled together to Ostia. She tailored to tour to fit our interests.

Marisa is a personable and very knowledgeable guide that gave us insight in to the history, culture and architecture of the Romans. Every portion of the tour showed us things in a new light and gave us information of interest that expanded our knowledge and enjoyment of the sites. What a fantastic day we had with Marisa. Starting at the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill we learned so much about history and the evolution of Rome. We continued on to the Colosseum and again learned so much about its construction and history. After going to a great pizza place for lunch we toured the Basilica of San Clemente. It was so interesting to go underground and see the 3 different levels of construction on the same site. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Marisa and would highly recommend her tours.

Marisa has a great knowledge of the local history and traditions. She is passionate about the subject of antique Rome excavations and even participated in some herself. She is completely fluent in English language. She was able to adjust the tour and make it very interesting for our boys 12 and 13. They liked her tour very much as well.

Marisa was amazing. She is friendly, accommodating, super organised and passionate. I love Roman history but have never studied it. So I needed a guide for all the ruins in and around Rome, who could do more than explain the basics, but would not inundate me with too much complexity. Marisa can go as deep into the history as much as you like, but read my needs well. I learned so much, and it was fun.
